Spring is here! And I’m oscillating between these two identities:
It’s an emotional rollercoaster for me and my wardrobe. I’m ready to live in a pair of Nike running shorts though my boyfriend says “that’s not me.” To which I say, I know that’s not you, it’s me, and then he’s like, I’m just saying it’s not me, and then I’m like, right, because it’s me, not you. We really love to talk about our identities in intelligent ways.
Though the real news is, my hair looks good.
I was going to cut it, something I really only do once or twice a year, but now that I’ve rediscovered braids, I feel like I’m actually Pocahontas. Which is really the opposite of what girls want to look like now apparently?
I haven’t watched Euphoria yet but I have seen a lot of long fake nails around town. I understand having your own aesthetic, but I truly don’t know how you go about your day with those nails. How do you eat a sandwich? How do you go through you wallet? How do you pee?
I did sleep til noon 2 days after Daylight Savings and was really embarrassed about it. Sometimes I operate as a high school boy and other days I’m a mother of three to all of my personalities. A boy once told me I had so many different faces that I never really looked the same. I still don’t know what it means.
I like to think of this as one of Dot’s Poetry Corner sketches from Animaniacs. I was interviewed to be a writer on the new season a couple years ago but then the exec was like “You honestly seem like such a fan of the show you might not want to work on it” and I was like… “You’re right.” I love to ruin chances at money. When I left the WB lot the parking gate came down on my rental car and then I had to like file a claim with their office and they said “Don’t worry we had to do this last week with a tree branch.”
You ever in this type of situation? I low key love dropping a humble brag but sometimes you have to be like, *is it worth it*
Sometimes I worry that too much of my art is dog art but then I’m like… no.
I actually had dog art on the new season of Law & Order last week! It was a painting of Margie in the woods. You can find it in the second scene of the episode titled “Fault Lines.” I obviously had a watching party where I screamed and had to keep rewinding the pause at the right moment to see it off in the distance.
And finally… a recent list:
